Or maybe youâre reentering the workforce after time spent away. At any rate, itâs time to find a job. The question is, how long should you expect the process to take? From finding the job posting itself, to scoring an interview, to getting an offer and actually getting started, knowing how much time to budget for finding a new job can be tricky. Individuals who are simply moving jobs have more flexibility with this, while recent grads with loans are in more of a hurry to get things figured out. As far as researching companies goes, there really isnât a right or wrong amount of time to spend looking for a job. It all depends on how quickly you want to get the process started. The bottom line is there is no concrete timeline to help you plan your job search. Be prepared for the hiring process to last anywhere from two weeks to two months once you start sending out applications. Any more than three months, however, and itâs best to move on, as the process most likely isnât going anywhere.
